You have probably seen many pictures of 18-year-old British diver Tom Daley in papers and magazines over the past few years. Well, the Olympics poster-boy gets his London 2012 diving dream off to a start with partner Pete Waterfield in the men's synchronised 10m platform. It's a big day at Eton Dorney for the rowing, with heats in the men's pairs and men's fours both getting under way. All in all, there are 12 gold medals up for grabs on Day Three including shooting, diving, weightlifting, judo, gymnastics, fencing and swimming. In another busy evening in the wonderful Aquatics Centre there will be four medal events – including the men's 100m backstroke, for which Liam Tancock is the GB men's team's best chance of a medal in the pool. The men's 200m freestyle should see an almighty clash between the world record-holder Paul Biedermann of Germany and Ryan Lochte, the brilliant US swimmer who has kept countryman Michael Phelps at bay.
