British artist and designer Luke Edward Hall put his festive stamp on The London Edition this winter with his colourful twenty-foot Christmas tree. Sitting proudly in the Lobby Bar, the majestic artwork decorates a pine green tree structure created by renowned florist designer Mark Colle with bows and tinsel and Hall's giant cut-out illustrations - all oversized to give every visitor the sense of childlike wonder. Sitting atop the tree is a golden galleon representing the notion of drifting off into a dream or being transported to a magical land. In the neighbouring Berners Tavern, Colle has filled ceramic vases with beautifully scented winter foliage to further add to the festive feel.
About The London EDITION
London Edition opens on 12th September 2013. The former Berners Hotel in Fitzrovia, closed since 2006, was bought by Marriott International in November 2010 and will become the London Edition when it opens in 2013. The historic grade ll listed Berners Street building has had a £33 million makeover to become a luxury lifestyle hotel under the Edition brand, created by Marriott in partnership with legendary American hotelier Ian Schrager complete with a restaurant, Berner's Tavern, run by Jason Atherton.
