Nestled between Cowcross Street, Britton Street and St John Street, and a stone's throw from Farringdon Station, Cowcross Yards was once a historic landmark where cattle crossed on their way to Smithfield Market. But that was back in the twelfth century. In November 2019 it was reinvented as a space where visitors can explore, eat and enjoy the latest food trends. A weekly street food market, Urban Food Fest, brings gourmet ready-to-eat dishes every Thursday with a different offering each week. This publicly accessible pedestrian plaza in the heart of Farringdon is surrounded by shops, offices, a gym and residential space and gives locals and tourists alike an off-the-road refuge where they can eat and relax.
