GaleriE8 is a contemporary art gallery and social space located in the Arthaus building of Hackney's London Fields (E8 - geddit?). With a 250 square metre atrium centered below six surrounding floors of residential and commercial units, GaleriE8 presents innovative and provocative programmes that explore the art object's relation to space, theatricality, history and philosophy. The building also includes a cafe to allow for reflection and refreshment, and a literary resource centre for further exploration. GaleriE8 even has a web-based magazine so users can learn more about the exhibitions they have seen. The focus is on site-specific installations and emerging international artists.
