In the heart of Hackney, The Hackney Central Library offers a wide range of adult fiction and non-fiction books for loan, along with large print books and talking books, a children's library service, books and audio-visual material in community languages, DVDs, videos and music CDs and music scores. Regular events at the library include a newspaper reading group for adults with learning disabilities, the coffee, cake and reading group and boys only book club. There is also wheelchair access, a lift and adapted toile.
