A lovely place for an informal low-key dinner or a noisy, buzzy meal out, The Lansdowne is well known as a good gastropub in Primrose Hill - and, having been established in 1992, was one of the first gastropubs in London. Catering for a young-ish crowd, there are delicious pizzas with unusual toppings like minced lamb alongside more familiar flavours like the Florentine - tomato, spinach, mozzarella, egg, garlic, parmesan cheese. These are on offer along with more standard gastro pub fare like roast guinea fowl and green bean salad, and fried semolina with grilled courgettes and buffalo mozzarella. It can get busy with large parties coming to eat but the service is good and the staff cope well with the crowds.
