This east-meets-west cafe on Monmouth Street comes with a Middle Eastern menu, cosy front terrace and a good range of specialty coffee. An oasis of calm mere steps away from Seven Dials, the 65-cover Apple Butter Cafe specialises in gourmet sandwiches and salads, daily freshly baked cakes, indulgent desserts and pastries piled high. The cafe comes courtesy of Middle Eastern-born brothers Saleh and Mohammad Alayan working alongside Faycal Abdel Khalek. They've put together a menu which includes goat labneh salad - complete with Mesclun, baby spinach, caramelised walnuts, goji berries and balsamic dressing - and chicken yakitori served with honey mustard mayo, baby rocket, pickles and soya sesame oil. The Lotus Flower dessert is something of a signature, filled with chocolate ganache, chocolate chips, topped with ice cream and caramel sauce. Enjoy cold brew coffee - brewed at room temperature for eight to 12 hours - while taking in the surroundings of deep red brick-lined walls and parquet flooring.
