Steak, lobster and whisky are the three staples at Blades, a sophisticated restaurant-within-a-rather-special-restaurant in the Silver Room at Mayfair's Hush. With the feel of a private member's club, Hush has always been a special place to eat. But with Blades you're reminded of Mayfair's sixties heyday. The name, for a start, references the private member's club to which James Bond's M belonged - an obvious choice for a restaurant co-founded by Roger 'James Bond' Moore - the room oozes effortless elegance and '60s photos line the walls. On the menu are options like w hole Cornish lobster either grilled, tempura or Thermidor, or pair a half lobster with Rib-Eye, Fillet or Sirloin. These can be paired Bloody Mary Ketchup, or sauces like Club Stilton Butter and Blades Blend Whisky Glaze. Other distinctly British dishes include whisky-cured smoked salmon carved at diners' tables, lobster beignets and rabbit. W hiskies and Bourbons can be sipped neat, sampled or enjoyed in a Blades Tipple mix. Opt for signature cocktail The Bowler and you'll get blended whisky, mixed tableside on a golden drinks trolley. Bond, very Bond.
