A Jamaican restaurant, bar and a work space for creatives, all within two converted railway arches in a tiny alleyway on Deptford High Street , Buster Mantis was dreamed up by its founder, Gordon McGowan, as a place to go for Caribbean culture and some 'really dangerous' rum punch. Opened in December 2015, it has been attracting praise for its minimal and modern approach and its curated events. Named after Sir Alexander Bustamante, Jamaica's beloved first ever Prime Minister, Buster Mantis is the place to go if you want some authentic Jamaican cuisine, or to rub shoulders with south London's creative types .
