Kurt Zdesar, who has had a hand in setting up Nobu, Ping Pong and - working alongside Alan Yau - Hakkasan, is behind this Italian restaurant and bakery in Marylebone. Handmade pasta, rolled just before service, and stone-baked pizza are, like almost everything at Fucina - bread, pastries, pasta, charcuterie and gelato - created in-house at the restaurant run by head chef Stefano Stecca. He trained as a sous chef at the Michelin-starred Zafferano and most recently ran Toto's in Knightsbridge. The light-filled restaurant, d esigned by Andy Martin Architecture, features an undulating red brick-lined ceiling, to emulate the inside of a pizza oven. In the dining room is a large marble bar which at one end serves classic Italian cocktails and at the other end a cichetti bar - here you'll see the chefs adding the final touch to dishes sent up from the lower ground kitchen. The restaurant officially opened in October 2016, followed a month later by Panetteria by Fucina, the bakery next door.
