A coffee bar by day, serving cocktails till midnight and offering a creative co-working space in between, Glass House is a true community hub on Brick Lane. It's by Alex Peffly and Z He, the husband and wife team behind Bun House, Wun's Tea Room and Pleasant Lady on Soho's Greek Street. Bringing Alex's vision to life, architect Z has designed a bright and airy space within the glass-fronted building at the crossroads of Brick Lane and Bethnal Green Road. Inside, centred around the terrazzo counter bar, are spaces for hot desking and a glass-encased recording studio. Freshly-made sandwiches refuel laptop-toting freelancers and as night falls, the lights are dimmed to create a neighbourhood bar with locally-brewed beers and spirits distilled on its doorstep, perfect for groups of friends looking to kick start their evening.
