With a much larger bar than previous sites - in Soho and St Christopher's Place - Hoppers King's Cross offers beers on tap and 1960's Tiki cocktails which go well with the home cooked Sri Lankan food its famous for. Centred on an iron-clad concrete bar, with warm, terracotta-toned floors in the main dining area, this restaurant in Pancras Square stays true to Hoppers philosophy of family-style feasting and dishes including negombo crab kari, black pepper curry leaf prawn skewers and quail kari are only available at this King's Cross branch. The menu also features bar bites, seafood grills and beachside snacks inspired by the coastal journey from Colombo, the island's capital, to the historical Dutch town of Galle. Interiors too are reminders of the scenic coastal route. Article Design Studio have incorporated features from the Geoffrey Bawa-designed Bentota Railway Station and the Coat of Arms Bar at Jetwing's Lighthouse Hotel in Galle while batik-patterned designs adorn the ceiling.
