This is an all-day affair from Jose Pizarro, bringing Spanish breakfasts, big joints and wonderful Spanish wines to Broadgate Circle in the City. Branching out from Bermondsey, where the celebrated Spanish chef has two restaurants - the famous Pizarro restaurant and small but perfectly formed sherry and tapas bar, Jose - into Broadgate Circle, the Pizarro menu includes starters or sharing plates of home-cured cod with Seville oranges, black olive and fennel salad, pan fried duck livers with garlic, and Iberico pork meatballs in tomato and orange sauce. Large Plates, big enough for an individual main course, include turbot a la plancha, rack of Yorkshire lamb, and 35 day aged Irish sirloin. Solomillo and Presa make welcome appearances on the menu and a jamon sits on the countertop at all times. Sip on a glass of Spanish wine, cava or beer and enjoy a seat on the outside terrace when the sun shines.
