It started out as a supper club at Balham's Brother Marcus but in 2019 Sri Lankan restaurant Paradise sets up a permanent home in Soho, taking over the space where Spuntino used to be. Head chef Charith Priyadarshana fuses British and Sri Lankan ingredients in a menu that's inspired by restaurateur Dom Fernando's childhood trips to Sri Lanka. The menu includes hoppers and kothu roti, mutton rolls with curry powder, c urries that include slow-roasted pork cheek curry, aubergine moju, jackfruit biriyani, and cabbage mallum. If the supper club is anything to go by, the setting will make you feel as though you're "sitting in a chic Colombo cafe" dining on food that's been "lovingly cooked from family recipes that go back generations".
