Adding to Russell Norman's popular mini chain, Polpo Chelsea brings a little piece of Venice to the upmarket neighbourhood. Located in Duke of York Square, it boasts a large outdoor seating area and, neighbouring a number of other al fresco eateries, provides the feel of dining somewhere far more exotic than west London. The Venetian restaurants have become renowned for their mini pizzas, meatballs and local wines served in Duralex glasses, while stylish decors and flattering candlelight add to the appeal, making them the perfect date night venue. The outdoor area at this Chelsea branch also lends well to the new brunch menu, which launched at all Polpo restaurants in mid-2016. The menu features brunch favourites such as smoked salmon and scrambled egg on sourdough and a selection of pastries, as well as more unusual options like poached eggs on a scafata bed and a brunch pizzetta, making it a good alternative to standard brunch options. Partner that with a breakfast bellini or bloody Mary and you've got the perfect start to the day.
