Memphis, Tennessee meets 'farm to grill', meets Camden Town is how Q Grill on Chalk Farm Road describes itself. Q Grill comes to Camden courtesy of Des McDonald, the man behind Islington's The Fish & Chip Shop who has brought in Phil Eagle, previously head chef at Hix, to head up the kitchen while the menu is overseen by Lee Bull who is also behind the menu at The Fish & Chip Shop. At the 150-seat Q, burgers, pecan wood-roasted chicken and grilled rib eye steak make up the meaty offerings alongside fish dishes like battered shrimp Q fritters, and queen scallop ceviche from the raw bar. Supplement with sides including seasoned fries, Q baked beans, and fried onion rings. Finish with American afters like banoffee cheesecake, salted caramel and peanut butter puddings, and Louisville lemonade jello, and wash down with wine, beer, American bourbon, or a cocktail. Another 2014 opening from owner Des McDonald, former CEO of Caprice Holdings, is the Rosewood hotel's Holborn Dining Room, expected to be a highlight of the new crop of restaurants opening in London in 2014.
