Step off bustling Kingly Street into Shotgun BBQ and you'll be greeted by inviting leather banquettes, intimate lighting, wood panelling and a sweeping marble-topped bar - the ideal place to relax and enjoy a taste of the American South. Serving authentic American barbeque in a New Orleans-style cocktail lounge, the restaurant is a fantastic addition to the popular Carnaby area. Start your feast with the perfect pairing of pimento cheese and Ritz crackers before moving on to smoked dishes such as Iberico baby back ribs, English Heritage beef rib and suckling pig with Carolina-style chilli vinegar sauce. Groups of six to eight should certainly order the fried chicken dinner, served family-style with all the fixins. Coated in buttermilk brine, the chicken itself is divine while a freshly baked-to-order cornbread with honey butter is an incredibly indulgent side dish. Further additions to the dinner include Cornish Crab dirty rice, creamed corn, and guajillo and cheddar mac 'n' cheese. Thankfully, reservations are possible and the bar is available for walk-in diners and drinkers, adding to the restaurant's ambience.
