At 26 Grains in Neal's Yard, Alex Hely-Hutchinson has been "serving nutritionally balanced breakfasts packed with layers of flavours and textures" (Olive Magazine) for five years. In October 2019 she opens Stoney Street in the heart of Borough Market. Named after the street it's located on, the all-day restaurant offers simple seasonal dishes with produce- and provenance-led cooking style. A big sister to 26 Grains, it's slightly more refined with a longer menu which includes small plates of warm chicory, pear and raclette salad for lunch with British raclette from neighbouring Kappacasein cheesemongers. In the evenings candles are lit and the kitchen, headed up by chef Henrietta Inman, offers choices of pollock with fennel, orange, olives and braised lentils or pappardelle with wild mushroom, sorrel, tarragon and egg yolk sauce. Stop by for a simple breakfast - pastries or six grain and seed porridge - coffee, or choose something seasonal from the bakery counter, served through a hatch for those on the go. Designed by Block1, the interiors are simple and stripped-back with brushed concrete floors, lime-washed walls and hand built wooden furniture. Out the back, bi-fold wooden doors open onto the terrace for alfresco dining late into the evening.
