Bringing inventive vegetarian cooking to their most central London location, brothers Michael and Adrian Daniel set up their third Gate restaurant, in Marylebone's Seymour Place, in 2016. In keeping with The Gate in Hammersmith and Islington, the menu includes favourites like aubergine teriyaki, and green banana fritters, but new additions are three-way filled globe artichoke, a deliciously crispy topped aubergine schnitzel, and wild mushroom rotolo. All the food is beautifully presented - tortillas filled with black bean, sweet potato and sweetcorn sit up on the plate, topped with a generous crown of springy watercress leaves. Unlike the two established Gate restaurants, Seymour Place is open for breakfast serving scrambled tofu with smoky shiitake mushroom or toasted bagel with fresh avocado. Keeping it light and airy, the 86 seat restaurant - which has seating for 16 outside and more downstairs - is pared-back with plain walls and lots of natural light. The beauty of this place is, even if you're a dedicated meat eater, you'll be won over by The Gate; converting carnivores since 1989.
