Closed for two years, The KPH (or Kensington Park Hotel) has been affectionately restored and reopened by Harcourt Inns, the independently owned portfolio of pubs founded by James McCulloch with Henry Harris as group chef-director. Joining sister pubs The Coach and The Hero of Maida, this Victorian building - a local landmark - has a ground floor pub, a light-filled first-floor dining room with food by Ruairidh Summers (sous chef at St. John between 2014 and 2017) and seven bedrooms. The menu is Parisian Bistro food meets Montreal food scene with offal and unusual cuts of meat featuring in dishes like guinea fowl and chicken liver parfait. Occupying a prominent corner of Ladbroke Grove, The KPH is well known as one of London's oldest live music venues. Tom Jones played his first gig here, the Clash's Mick Jones was a regular and that heritage continues with a live music programme and a late licence until 1am on weekends.
