The Oystermen, aka Matt Lovell and Rob Hampton, have proved so popular, bringing fresh shellfish and crab doughnuts to Covent Garden, that in autumn 2018 the cosy, 26 cover Oystermen Seafood Bar & Kitchen doubles in size to include both 31 and 32 Henrietta Street. The extended space hosts an all-day oyster and raw bar especially for walk-in visitors, and guests can choose from a wider selection of rock and native oysters. The 50 seater restaurant also has a more expansive open kitchen, where talented Weymouth-born head chef Alex Povall, perviously at Angela Hartnett's Cafe Murano and Merchants Tavern , and his team cook up a wide menu of the finest daily fresh fish, seafood and hot oysters for lunch and dinner. Dishes change regularly to match the season and come with house-pickled cucumber . Ideally located for pre- or post-theatre dining, they offer a "Bubbles 'n' Oysters Happy Hour" deal every day from 3pm to 5pm, offering six freshly-shucked oysters and a glass of French sparkling for a tenner and the oyster bar stays open for post-theatre platters, light bites and drinks.
