Visitor Information
The original Watch House, which gives this mini chain of coffee shops its name, is housed in a unique Bermondsey Street building, once a shelter for men guarding St Mary Magdalane Church graveyard at night. Today it provides shelter and warming coffee to locals, commuters, families and dog walkers using the neighbouring St Mary Magdalane Park - just as those guards would have done 200 years ago. Preserving the legacy of the building, traditional Victorian materials and finishes were used in its renovation - from the limestone wash on the walls to Victorian tiles on the floor. Order single origin filter coffee or blend house espresso, choose a sandwich and enjoy this cosy spot in south central London.
