Vivo opens on 9th October 2013.
Brothers Will and Ben Thompson are behind this Italian bakery and restaurant on Upper Street in Islington. Vivo is their first venture has been inspired by their love of Italian food and the traditional gastronomia and pasticceria of Italy. The menu encouraging all day dining with choices of freshly baked ciabatta and focaccia, torte rustica (Italian savoury pies), authentic Roman pizza 'al taglio' (rectangular slices), fresh salads, speciality cheese and meat boards. Hot dishes include firm favourites like lasagne and cannelloni. Italian desserts and pastries can be accompanied by coffee - supplied by renowned Neapolitan roaster Kimbo. In look and feel the decor combines modern features with rustic earthy tones while a striking 14 metre granite counter provides the main focal point of the dining room. There's space for up to 50 covers on the ground floor with seating a mix of communal and individual tables, and an open air roof terrace with seating for 35 upstairs - ideal for al fresco dining in the warmer months.
