Wazen, which means 'Japanese table' brings Londoners an authentic Japanese experience, serving up high quality food prepared by Japanese chefs. With a minimal design aesthetic, the food at this neighbourhood restaurant is overseen by head chef Toshimasa Tanahashi who comes with over 30 years of experience via the kitchens of Japanese restaurants Matsuri in St James, Kyubi at the Arts Club in Mayfair and Kouzu in Belgravia. An extensive choice of Japanese starters, sashimi, tempura and sushi rolls is supplemented by mains like spicy tuna tartare, chicken kakinotane, baby chicken with nanban sauce and stone bass with tomato ume and yuzu shio ponzu. The front of house team is headed up by Kenichiro Urata, who previously led the team at cult London Japanese ramen restaurant Kanada-Ya. Premium sakes are available by the glass and carafe and you can also sample three rare sakes from across Japan.
