Stocking wines shipped by Davy's Wine Merchants, the Tappit Hen also recalls one the building's famous, former owners, Sandeman, with a large selection of Port and fortified wines available by the glass, bottle and Coravin. That's not the only nod to its heritage. The City wine bar and restaurant takes its name from the traditional 2.1 litre Port bottle. As well as wines and port, the menu offers reliable food and steak night on Wednesdays, when you get a complimentary aperitif and a steak from award winning butcher Donald Russell. The atmospheric space includes two private dining rooms and a 15th century cellar, available for private tastings and events.
