Having been originally built in 1660 and then rebuilt in 1899 the White Hart in Barnes stands as a goliath of Tudor grandeur with the stunning imposing design of high Victorian Gothic. Offering a refuge from city living, this Young's owned pub has river views and a good selection of wines, spirits, and cask ales as well as decent coffee. Food varies from a relaxed family Sunday roast to a light lunch. Boat Race day is a big event for the Barnes pub with barbequed food and live music laid on. But on less spring-like days there are outdoor heaters, blankets and hot water bottles to warm up the terrace which houses a winter BBQ and outside smokery.
