JW3 is a Jewish arts, culture and community centre with a kosher restaurant, cafe and bar overlooking Finchley Road in northwest London. Opened in 2013, and 10 years in the making, it is the brainchild of Vivien Duffield, whose Clore Duffield Foundation provided the lion's share of the £50 million it took to realise the project. Designed by Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands, the four storey building - which looks like two from street level - contains a 270-seat auditorium, a 60-seat cinema, a restaurant and bar, a demonstration kitchen, dance studios, classrooms and medical clinics as well as a nursery at the top with its own roof terrace. With the Camden Arts Centre across the road, JW3 is one of the best cultural centres in this corner of Hampstead.
