London's biggest shopping centre now has a cinema megaplex to match its size and gradeur in the shape of Vue Westfield, which opened in February 2010. With 14 ultra-modern digital screens - including five 3D screens and two super-size "vueXtremes" - catering for 3,000 film-goers, Vue Westfield promises to redefine cinema entertainment. The two large-format vueXtreme screens are the size of four double decker buses and can sit nearly 500 people - finally giving the Imax a run for its money when it comes to immersing viewers en masse deep into the thrilling enormity of cinema. Costing just £1 extra than a usual cinema ticket, the 3D experience need not break the bank either. Three special "Scene" auditoria also offer over-18s the chance to watch films with extra legroom, reclining seats and a licenced bar and restaurant - tapping into the current boutique cinema craze perfected by the likes of Notting Hill's Electric Cinema and Hampstead's Everyman. Like the Westfield Shopping Centre itself, Vue Westfield will definitely be worth the visit even if you live far away from Shepherd's Bush.
