The third of these increasingly popular 1950s retro-America style bowling alleys opened in late 2008 to much critical acclaim. Located in the Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane, it is but a stone's throw from the area's many curry houses and happening bars. A recent Vogue shoot with hot model Daisy Lowe just goes to show the height of hip that All Star Lanes has reached in London. It's is a great place for a gang of you to spend a memorable night out trying to out-do each other and the excellent bar and diner have made them a destination in their own right. The atmosphere is really buzzing on Friday and Saturday nights with resident guest DJs mixing the tunes and upping the tempo from 9pm through till midnight. As you'd expect at such an all-American entertainment, the diner serves burgers, steak, ribs and beers. Booking a lane is recommended but not essential - there are always at least two waiting list lanes which are on a first come first serve basis - and when booking you can have up to six people (estimate time: 10 mins per person per game) or opt for a table in the diner. As Vogue says, bowling is no longer a sport to be embarrassed about.
All Star Karaoke: Two luxury karaoke booths have now been opened at the Brick Lane outlet accomodating up to seven and 14 people respectively. Prices range from £25 to £115 per hour depending on numbers and when you want to sing (after 9.30pm on Saturday being the most expensive).
