The iconic Pringle-shaped Velodrome in the north of the Olympic Park at Stratford, a state of the art stadium built for the London 2012 Olympics, re-opens for public use on 4th March 2014. The centerpiece of the 2012 cycling competition, the 6,000 seat velodrome returns centre stage as the most striking element of the Lee Valley VeloPark which combines four cycling disciplines in one venue. Cyclists of all abilities can ride the 250 metre track where Great Britain won seven gold medals from ten events in the London 2012 Games. The award winning stadium has been designed for the very highest level of international cycling competition but is also available to beginners and novices who can sign up for taster courses. The new VeloPark includes the neighbouring redeveloped BMX Track and is owned, funded and run by the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority.
