Chelsea local, The Builders Arms on Britten Street, a landmark pub serving thirsty locals since 1999, underwent an elegant makeover in 2019, installing eccentric styling while retaining its original charm. Modern pub food is on the menu, served alongside cask ales, cocktails and wine. At the very heart of the pub is great British seasonal food with an all-day menu with crispy pig's head with piccalilli, salt baked tiger prawns with garlic butter and organic squash, and Hereford onglet steak with girolles and watercress among the choices. Poached Aperol peaches with tonka cream, almond and rosemary crumble and a sticky greengage upside down cake with malted custard are just some of the puddings on offer. Bar snacks and platters include chicken yakitori skewers, crispy squid with smoked chilli and lime; and meat, cheese and vegetarian sharing boards. Pineapple lights and zesty orange patterned wallpaper as well as original artwork by Paul Karslake help create a fun but relaxed atmosphere.
