Sat amongst a row of houses on Lavender Hill this unassuming Italian restaurant has a loyal local following and a team dedicated to producing authentic Neapolitan cuisine. The chefs at Donna Margherita are immensely proud of their Napoli history and this pride translates into their cooking. Owner and head chef Gabriele Vitale has been serving Italian cuisine since he was fourteen and is immensely passionate about sharing his delicious food. This small trattoria doesn't look particularly spectacular from the outside but the atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the walls are decorated with photos and homely memorabilia. The wood-fire oven churns out traditionally made pizzas that have been slowly but surely building a reputation amongst foodies in London. If that's not a good sign, then the hoards of Italians that frequent the premisis should make it a safe bet. The light and crispy dough bases are topped with ingredients straight from Southern Italy and the truly tempting desert menu offers all the traditional Italian classics such as homemade tiramisu and mouth-watering lesser knowns such as homemade warm ricotta cake served with pistachio ice-cream. They also offer a delivery service to bring the taste of Napoli direct to your doorstep.
