At Lola Rojo, it's all about the tapas. In true Spanish style, there's crispy aubergine, Iberian ham croquettes and chestnut mushrooms. And of course there are the wines. Lots and lots of Spanish wine. But as Antonio Belles and Cristina García, the husband and wife team behind the restaurant, proudly promise a "cutting edge" to be found on their extensive and eclectic menu, the more daring diners can also choose from tapas dishes such as grilled octopus and even chorizo lollipops. As for dessert, it's all ice cream and sorbet, but you can also treat yourself to manchego cheese with quince, nuts and bread or some of the home-made chocolate truffles. This Battersea tapas bar is like a fiesta of eye-popping red set against white walls and stone floors. Although there's a backroom in addition to the smaller front section, the place is often packed-out with a buzzing atmosphere.
