Overlooking the Canary Wharf quay side, the Manhattan Grill is the perfect destination for meat lovers. Found within the London Marriott West India Quay, the stylish, no frills restaurant puts all its focus on the food, with quality, cooked to perfection steaks stealing the show. A large open kitchen at the rear allows diners to see the chefs at work, who are busy preparing 28-day wet aged USDA Angus beef and 28-day dry aged Scottish Aberdeen steak. The former is all about tenderness while the latter packs in the flavour, and a variety of cuts further expands the number of options. For a real treat, diners can opt for the premium steak sharing board, which adds a theatrical element to the evening. Designed for four people and charged at £35 per person, the feast commences with a delicious platter of scallops, king prawns and pressed beef before moving on to the star of the show: five of the restaurant's best premium cuts of steaks served on wooden sharing boards. Made up of the USDA New York Strip, USDA fillet, Scottish rib eye and Scottish fillet, plus a steak of the month, the experience enables diners to find their desired cut, whether it be one that has a unique marbling and enhanced flavour or one that simply melts in the mouth. To enhance the experience further, there's the option of a red wine flight, which at just £12.50 is exceptional value and really adds to the experience. Sip on a spicy French Syrah while tucking into the USDA fillet, indulge in a subtle and aromatic Argentinean Malbec with the Scottish rib eye and enjoy a smooth Chilean Merlot with the USDA New York strip, which perfectly complements the subtle marbling on the meat. Add to that two sides per person - choose from crispy onion rings, fluffy chips, gooey mac 'n' cheese or a range of complementary veg - and a crowd-pleasing line-up of mini puds - Eton mess, chocolate brownie, key lime pie and sticky toffee pudding - and you've got the ultimate indulgent night out.
