An upmarket modern Greek restaurant in Marylebone, Opso doesn't do starters or main courses. Instead pots of Greek dishes like taramasalata and slices of bottarga, the cured roe of the flathead mullet, arrive on wooden boards. Named after the ancient Greek word for 'delicacy', Opso aims to refine the rustic reputation Greek food has. In an otherwise unflattering review, Jay Raynor singled out the snails and chips for praise describing its "crisp fried potatoes, piled with perfectly cooked snails, draped with a sauce heavy on finely diced smoky lardons". Dessert too is a hit, the loose-crumbed walnut cake "shows skill and greed in equal measure" wrote The Guardian restaurant critic.
