Terry Blake and Yohini Nandakumar, who met while working at St John, are behind Sparrow, serving a global menu which draws on Yohini's Sri Lankan heritage. Their restaurant in Lewisham benefits from their combined experience in restaurants including Bao, Merchant's Tavern, Pollen Street Social and The Square, as well as St John. Choosing the best places to eat and drink in his local Lewisham, chef Vivek Singh told The Telegraph: " I really like what Sparrow is doing with its modern European menu with Sri Lankan touches... I go weekly, which is handy because the menu is always changing. My go-to dish is the massaman beef-cheek curry ? ?- it just melts in the mouth."
