Constructed between 1863 and 1866, Cannon Street Railway Bridge was built to transport trains over the river to Cannon Street station on the north bank. The City Terminus of the South Eastern Railway in 1866, Cannon Street train station was once a magnificent Victorian structure, sadly no longer. The bridge, however, is still ferrying trains across the river, though it was extensively renovated between 1979 and 1982.
