Islington cafe-cum-deli Jenius Social isn't just a place to enjoy fine food and carefully sourced balsamic vinegar, artisan chocolates and cured meats. It's also a purpose-built cookery school and a venue for supper clubs which aims to get people talking, learning and connecting through food. Set up by Jennifer Yong with Malcolm Emmanueil - who spent a two-year stint under Angela Hartnett at the Connaught - offering tutilage as head chef, Jenius Social hosts daily food adventures from cocktail dating to team bonding and includes special events with industry experts and top food producers. The purpose-built space includes six ovens and hobs in a flexible, versatile space ideal for groups to learn and cook together, ending the course by sharing the food they produce at communal tables. Turn up between 6pm and closing time and you can enjoy wines from the deli at retail prices with tasty tapas provided gratis.
