Empty for four years, the building next to Drapers Hall and behind the Bank of England which used to be Throgmortons became Heroes Grotto of Comedy in 2014. Once the flagship of J. Lyons & Co - the tea people and owners of a large food empire in the 1930s - the three floor building has been turned it into a comedy club, steered by Rock n Roll manager Bob Slayer who spent over a decade touring with bands like The Bloodhound Gang, Snoop Dogg, Electric Eel Shock and The Magic Numbers before turning to comedy. He has teamed up with The Weirdos Collective, run by absurdist comic Adam Larter, and Laugh Out London comedy club which has been running comedy nights across London in 2011.
